I just learned of a list of must-read books for cyber security practitioners called the Cybersecurity Canon. Turns out that I have read several already, and they are excellent (both interesting and useful). This is a great idea and I highly recommend looking through the list, even if you stick to just the novels.
But the list shouldn’t be limited just to practitioners – pretty much anyone working on Information Governance would benefit. Cyber security is a key facet of Information Governance, along with eDiscovery, Privacy and RIM (records and information management). Or you could break these into Legal (eDiscovery, Compliance, etc.), Information Technology (security, privacy, etc.) and Records Management (retention, etc.). Any way you try to slice these categories there is overlap . . . .
But back to the point – cyber security becomes more important each day and tends to be misunderstood by many. So grab a few of the books on the Cybersecurity Canon…
